Four UCSB chemistry faculty members are named Highly Cited Researchers of 2015 by Thomson Reuters. Professors Guillermo Bazan, Craig Hawker, Alan Heeger, and Thuc-Quyen Nguyen were included on this prestigious list of leading researchers. This list honors investigators having multiple papers with the top 1% of citations in their discipline.

Former Student of Dan Little Receives ACS "Heroes of Chemistry" Award

The American Chemical Society honored George Muller, a former student of Dan Little, with the Heroes of Chemistry Award in August 2015. According to C&EN Washington, the award is the society's "most prestigious honor for industrial scientists." To read more, click here.

Stucky Group Alum Receives MacArthur Fellowship

Award Recipient: Peidong Yang

Award Date: October 09, 2015

Peidong Yang, a postdoctoral fellow at UC Santa Barbara from 1997-1999, has been named a MacArthur Fellow in recognition of his work "transforming the field of semiconductor nanowires and nanowire photonics, and enabling wide-ranging practical applications." Professor Butler is named Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Personnel at UCSB

Chancellor Henry Yang announced today that Professor Alison Butler has been named the Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Personnel at UCSB, responsible for academic personnel matters. Dr. Butler is internationally recognized for her research in bio-inorganic chemistry and is also the Vice Chair of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
