Professor Joan-Emma Shea becomes Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Physical Chemistry!

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry congratulates Joan-Emma Shea who recently became the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Physical Chemistry. Joan is the first female Editor-in-Chief in 124 years of the existence of this journal. This success is featured here:

Professor Butler receives the Royal Society of Chemistry medal for Inorganic Reaction Mechanisms

Congratulations to Professor Alison Butler for being awarded the Inorganic Reaction Mechanisms Award from the Royal Society of Chemistry! The award is given internationally for work leading to understanding of reaction mechanisms in any branch of inorganic chemistry. Prof. Butler was recognized for her pioneering research into the mechanistic bioinorganic chemistry of the marine environment.
