Congratulations to Professor Alison Butler on her election to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences! Professor Butler is an internationally recognized authority in bioinorganic chemistry and metallobiochemistry. The Academy was founded in 1780 by John Adams and includes George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Jonas Salk and John James Audubon among its past members.
