Assistant Professor Gabriel Ménard to join Chem Faculty

The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry cordially welcomes Gabriel Ménard, who is joining our department as an Assistant Professor in July 2015.  Prior to his appointment at UCSB, Gabriel completed his post-doctoral studies at Harvard University working on first-row cluster chemistry for small molecule activation under the tutelage of Prof. Ted Betley. Before this, he completed his Ph.D. at the University of Toronto in 2013 working on main group Frustrated Lewis Pairs for small molecule activation and greenhouse gas conversion under the supervision of Prof. Doug Stephan. Gabriel’s research will focus on catalyst design for clean energy applications and biomass conversion.
